The call for abstracts for Culture Conference 2024 is now open!
We call for submissions of abstracts of no more than 300 words, summarising the background, aims, methods and results of your work.
Submit your abstract by sending it as a word document (not a .pdf) to cultureconferenceuzh@gmail.com.
Abstracts may also include a single figure of any kind, but this is not required. Citations may be included, but are not required. Please indicate which of the authors will be the presenter, their preferred pronouns, and their contact email address.
We welcome submissions from any discipline that is interested in the study of culture (e.g. psychology, language science, animal behaviour, anthropology, biology, economics).
Submissions will close on October 31st, 2023.
There will be three formats for presentations at the conference. You may choose which you feel is best suited to the work you wish to present, although depending on the volume of submissions we may not be able to offer your preferred choice. Therefore, please indicate whether you would be interested in more than one format.
– Oral presentations (Up to 15 mins) – followed by 5 min of Q&A
– Lightning talks (Up to 7 mins, incl. Q&A)
– Poster presentations: An on-site poster session will take place where attendees will be able to freely visit and discuss the posters on display. Posters will also be made available online, but there will not be an equivalent online event.
Oral presentations and lightning talks can be carried out in-person or remotely, whereas the poster-session will only take place on-site (although posters will be available online). Note that lightning talk presenters who wish to present remotely will have to submit their talk as a recording to prevent technical issues interfering with the schedule. Oral presentations may also be submitted as recordings if preferred, but a live talk is generally more engaging.
Below your abstract, please indicate which format you would like your abstract to be considered for and whether you would be likely to present virtually or in-person.
